In 2010 Orem High unveiled a renovated building – and with it came a swarm of transfer students. Being in such direct competition with our rival school- Mountain View has caused strain on student life, however.

“I feel like we [Orem High students] take our tiger pride very seriously, but we tend to isolate others that are outside of our comfort zone, like our schools and stuff. Especially with the Mountain View students. We just hate each other.” said an Orem High student.

Does having this contention towards opposing students encourage a healthy amount of competition or are we as a school becoming too spiteful. Orem High has seen an increase with out of district transfers – many of these students, such as myself, being from Mountain View boundaries.
