With Christmas just around the corner, everyone is beginning their holiday traditions. Families are decorating their houses, friends are baking cookies and building gingerbread houses. Here are some of the best activities and traditions during this Christmas season in Utah.

Utah is known for its amazing ski resorts. Sundance is great because it’s so close to Orem, but if you’re willing to drive a bit, SnowBasin and Alta resorts are some of the best. Taking your family on a ski trip could be such a fun idea to do with friends and/or family.

On a less pricey note, going sledding and ice skating are fun outings. If you’re living in Utah, you’re bound to have snow clothes, so bundle up and go have some fun. In Provo, there is an ice skating rink named Peaks Ice Arena which is highly recommended.

Another activity is to have a Christmas party. Get a bunch of friends together and put on some Christmas pajamas. You guys can watch a holiday movie, play games, hot tub, Christmas music, karaoke, etc. Go drive around with your friends, blast music, and look at everyone’s Christmas decorations and lights.

Most everyone is down to have fun and eat some yummy food. Making or cooking some festive food with friends or family would be very enjoyable. Make some cookies, a cake, gingerbread houses, peppermint bark, or caramel. Some of my favorite memories are making caramel with my mom while listening to Christmas music.

The holiday memories you make as a kid are memories you are going to cherish forever, so make sure to make as many memories as possible. Hopefully these activities will give you ideas to make this holiday season the best one yet.
