True tiger is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear about the O-rock. Before you
graduate from Orem high every girl and boy wants to become a true tiger.
What does it mean to be a true tiger? “A true tiger is when you kiss by or near the O-rock on a
full moon.” Says Jenn Evertson.
On the last full moon at Orem high school there was a line around the corner waiting for the
O-rock in which the police had to come and break it up. “When I went there wasn’t a line and
police did not show up! That’s funny to hear that the O-rock has gotten so popular that the
police have to come break up high school students at Orem High’s O-rock.”
“I’m not a true tiger” says Mark Isaacson, “but the O-rock is a high school memory that you
will always remember for the rest of your life! No matter if you’re a true tiger or not!” and you
really do remember for the rest of your life. It can also sometimes affect the future. “I’m
actually a true tiger with my husband,” says Breanna Newsom “We were both sad to see that
the rock had changed colors though, the O-rock has always been yellow with a blue “o” now it
is the exact opposite. It makes alumni sad to see when things get changed at Orem High.” But
no matter the color the tradition still stays the same.
“The O-rock is a great tradition at Orem High” says Rachel Nelson. And the O-rock will always
and forever be at Orem high and will continue to be a great tradition.
