This past month, Orem High Drama put on the production Little Women. Little Women is a musical about four sisters that have very different dreams from each other, but they all love one another.

The actors and actresses in this musical all did an amazing job in portraying their characters, and definitely had fun working on it. Claire Eyestone, who played the wealthy and formidable Aunt March, said, “It was one of those shows that not only made you a better actor, but a better person. I love all the friendships I made.”

It was a musical that created a rollercoaster of emotions, and made the audience both laugh and cry. There were witty remarks said, tear jerking songs sung, and fits of passion everywhere you turned.

Hannah Thompson played Josephine March (Jo), the passionate main character with a stubborn streak and a desire to write. When asked if it was difficult playing such a strong feeling character, Hannah replied, “Yes, it was very stressful. I have never had a part this big, and at first I didn’t see myself as the character, but someone very opposite from it. But I realized that I was more like her than I had first thought.”

There was much work put into this production, including set design, costumes, and the acting. The people that worked so hard in doing all those things are the heart of the show, and we should always remember that.
