“Zooming In” on one of Orem’s Finest Artists

Here at Orem High, we have a diverse community of unique stereotypes that describe many of the personalities that walk through our halls. One of the most widely known and renowned are the “Skater kids”. Of these, we have our very own Nathan Morton, who is known and loved throughout Orem High. This beloved senior has agreed to give us a greater look into his fascinating life:

What’s your full name?
“Nathan Massimiliano Morton,
stems all the way over from Italy”

Where are you from?
“Born and raised Orem Utah

Where is your ideal place to live?
“Probably a City. Like New York or San Francisco or Chicago.”

What are your hobbies?
“Arts. Mainly Photography.”

What inspired these hobbies?
“I guess it all stems from little things. I grew up listening to music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, which sparked my interest in music, and then decided, “hey, I wanna play music.” So then I made a band, which adds to my love of music. Photography was my own thing. Once I tried it I realized I was pretty good at it.”

Who has inspired you the most?
“Depends on the time. We’ll list off a few. David Gilchrist, Mac demarco, my parents, Mr Jones, he’s the man. that’s about it right now.”

What do you aspire to be?
“A working artist I guess. If I want to do an art piece, I’ll do an art piece, if I want to write music, I’ll write music. I would like to be an art director right now, but I guess we’ll see.”

What is your greatest passion?
“Probably photography. There’s so many things you can do with it. You can make them happy, you can make them sad, you can make them mutual, you can make them chad.”

Tell me about your camera collection
“I’ve got 3 super 8s, a tlr, a dslr, an slr, range finders,
around 17 cameras in total.”
