There are many reasons one might consider immigration as an option, some of these may be that the applicant has a job opportunity, relatives or friends that reside in said location, the applicant may be desiring of a change, or an escape from a corrupt and crumbling government. Once you have decided that the decision to immigrate is good for you, you will want to pick a province that suits your needs. Each province has it’s own rules for immigration and programs you may want to apply for. Make sure to read the immigration rules for your chosen provence. You must ensure that you’ve selected a proper immigration program and do all necessary follow-up work. Determine if you are eligible for the program you’ve selected. Eligibility is based on a lot of different features, such as age, nationality, if you have family members residing in Canada, your education and work experience, and so on. You wouldn’t want any legal issues whilst applying for this process. You must also pass the canadian language test. You may test for either English or French. You must reach a specific score in order to continue the immigration process. Once you have done this you will want to apply for a permanent visa. It may take up to two months for applications to be approved. Then, you’re all set!

Once you have lived in Canada for 4 out of 6 years after receiving permanent residency you may apply to become a citizen. You have to be at least 18 years of age, prove that you are fluent in either English or French, be current with taxes and declare that you would like to reside in Canada permanently.
