Last Wednesday during sophomore registration the skyward server experienced technical difficulties, preventing most sophomores from registering for classes. Randomly, one to two minute periods let 23 students register for at least one class. There are parents and students demanding those few classes be dropped, but the decision of Friday by the administration was to let those students keep their classes.

It would be unfair for those few lucky students to have to drop their classes. In an interview with Mr. Larson, he said, “No classes have been filled up because of the 23 students, everyone still has a fair chance.”

Most of the people who are for dropping classes are the parents and the students who didn’t get any classes. If the tables were turned, and those students had been enrolled, they would most likely be for keeping the classes. It was just the luck of the draw.

Condemning some because they won the lottery and you didn’t isn’t ethical because it’s up to chance. Only 5% of the sophomores got at least one class, and that won’t prevent anyone from getting registered anymore than it would have had the registration gone normally.
