Why did Trump win the 2024 presidential election

Have you ever wondered how Donald Trump came to win the November 6th, 2024 presidential election? If you have, there are many more who think just like you, so let’s talk about the reasons he did.

To start and find reasons as to why Trump won this election we first need to go back to 2021 and 2022. “It was a rough campaign for Trump. He wasn’t seen as cool”(Seitz-Wald, A., Gomez, H. J., & Korecki, N. (2024, November 8). How Trump Won – and how Harris lost – the 2024-election)  said a campaign official. He really started to gain traction with DeSantis; when that happened it sparked an interest in him. The “Social stigma” receded, and it caused Trump to be known as a hero.

Coming back to this year, 2024, one of the big reasons Trump won that we can see is because of all the talk shows Trumps’ campaign was on. The biggest one is that Trump was on the Joe Rogan podcast. Joe had invited Harris as well, but her campaign decided it wasn’t worth it. Later on the eve of the election day Joe Rogan would endorse Trump. This shows that he had at least some of the followers of Joe Rogan voting for him.

When Kamala Harris replaced Joe Biden on the ballot she didn’t take interviews. “At the start of her campaign, people knew of her, but they didn’t know her”(Seitz-Wald, A., Gomez, H. J., & Korecki, N. (2024, November 8). How Trump Won – and how Harris lost – the 2024-election) Not doing interviews could’ve been one of the leading factors to her loss, and could show why Trump won both the popular and Electoral vote.

All of these things eventually lead to this point; Trump winning the election. From experience, people around the U.S. were all anxious to see who would win, and when Trump won the Republicans were mostly happy, and the Democrats were surprised that they had lost.
