A new era in American history is in the works. With Inauguration of President-Elect Trump just around the corner, many Americans are looking at his cabinet picks to see what the future holds.

A hot topic in recent days has been Trump’s pick for Attorney General, Jeff Sessions. The Attorney General’s job is to oversee counsel to the legislature. Jeff Sessions has been a controversial pick due to his past stances on civil right’s issues.  He has had allegations of being racist, has voted yes to ban same-sex marriage and voted yes on cutting special funding for minorities and women owned businesses.

Trump has also picked Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary. She is a major advocate for school’s choice, meaning familes get to chose what education path their child takes. As well as greater state autonomy in education matters. In an interview with ABC News she said, “Education should be non-partisan.”

Along with Nikki Haley, Betsy DeVos is one of only 2 women to be picked for President-Elect Trump’s cabinet.

Wilbur Ross has been picked for Secretary of Commerce. He is known as “The King of Bankruptcy” for his work in reconstructing failed companies.

These are just a few of Trump’s pick for his advisory cabinet. People all across the nation are both hopeful and fearful for the next four years.

“I don’t want the ultra conservative’s agenda to set back the progress we’ve made in the last 8 years, especially for the LGBT community.” said an unnamed registered Democrat.

On the flip-side, some are very hopeful for President-Elect Trump’s presidency.

“I think he’s going to do awesome! With his experience in business I think he’ll really be able to help our economy.” an anonymous Republican said.
The American people are waiting to see how the next four years play out.
