Why did Trump win and Harris lose in the 2024 election? There were a couple of reasons why, with one of them being that the economy was in a better state under trumps previously then when biden was president. Harris tried using the wrong type of promotions. Biden did not help his side by dropping out of the election which made it for a rough start for the democrats, so that made it hard for them to win over the swing states. With those reasons in mind let’s dive deeper into them.
The one biggest part that affected our economy was covid 19 at the beginning of biden’s residence. Enrico Colombatto a fellow news writer says “The jobless rate when Mr. Trump entered the White House was 4.7 percent. It decreased to 3.5 percent before Covid hit, and peaked at 14.9 percent in April 2020. When Mr. Biden took office in January 2021, the unemployment rate was 6.4 percent; it has gradually declined to the low of 3.4 percent in early 2023. In July 2024, the jobless rate stood at 4.3 percent.” that shows us just how much the jobless rate changed during each presidential election. This shows us that the economy was very different during each precedence which caused a lot of people to want Trump again.
While talking to fellow students I gathered that a lot of students hadn’t seen as many public promotions, and ads from Harris then trump. Which Is harder for Harris to be known more. It also made it harder for the democrats because of Biden dropping out in the early stages of the election process. This made it hard for the swing states to trust and know the type of president Harris is and will be.
The economy and Harris’s promotion all led up to Trump winning over the swing states which caused him to win the election all together.
