The OHS intramural basketball season is coming to a close, and it’s no secret that intramurals have been a hot topic among students. Intramural basketball started way back in Orem High’s history, but Reggie Rhees restarted the tradition six years ago. He’s been running intramurals since. He says, “My favorite thing about intramurals is the excitement – the excitement about jerseys, stats, etc.”

This year a lot of students are participating; there are a total of 10 teams. When asked about intramurals, players had a lot to say.

“We picked our team by picking the elite players in the league,” said Zach Wells.

“The best part of intramurals is swatting people,” said Sterling Reid.

Chris Huntington responded, “I decided to do intramurals because I love to ball. Ball is life.”

“My favorite thing was spanking Dirty Dan as he went up for a dunk,” said Talmage Bratt.

Robert Rex said, “It’s strange that some people get into intramurals more than they do the “real” school basketball team.”

The championship game will be held on February 12th as an after school assembly. Currently, Star Command and Tune Squad are the top teams.

Players had different predictions on who will win the championship.

Cole Dayton said, “I think Tune Squad will win.”

Zach Wells said, “Team Voldermort will win the tournament.”

Robbie Hadfield responded, “I predict Star Command will win because they have solid players all around.”

Which team will have what it takes to win the title of champions?
